Projects
Throughout the years, BMRC has implemented various projects aimed at uplifting rural communities. For instance, the promotion of Self-Help Groups (SHG) has empowered women by enabling them to form groups for savings and micro-financing. In the realm of agriculture, initiatives that focus on sustainable practices have boosted crop yields. Horticulture projects have introduced high-value crops, leading to increased income for farmers. Efforts in forest conservation have engaged community members in the protection of local biodiversity. Livestock promotion programs have offered training and resources to enhance productivity and livelihoods. Additionally, programs in rural arts and crafts have helped preserve traditional crafts while also providing a source of income. Rural tourism initiatives have drawn visitors, allowing them to experience local culture and nature. Lastly, support for skill innovation has encouraged entrepreneurship, equipping individuals with essential skills for new economic opportunities.
CURRENT ONGOING PROJECTS
The BRMC is currently engaged with a pilot intervention primarily focussed on alternative livelihood programme through its Community Livelihood Improvement Project CLIP supported by under the MEPRF model in collaboration with the Department of Mining and Geology, Directorate of Mineral Resources, State Environment and Forests along with expertise of Naba Bhattacharjee (Technical on Forest, Environment etc..) and his team.
Chief Ministers Youth Development Scheme (CMYDS)
The BRMC has initiated the Chief Ministers Youth Development Scheme CMYDS for the year 2025-26 and the theme is Youth Connect. The program surrounds on key topics of community engagement with local community youths and elders ranging from Drugs and Substance Abuse, Rural Tourism, Enterprises Development, Value Education etc, that seeks to inform, sensitize, educate and promote important matters affecting the society at large.
Community Livelihood Improvement Project (CLIP)
Under the Community Livelihood Improvement Project (CLIP) we have 10 villages, 5 from Saipung Block and 5 from Wapung Block.
The project villages listed below, that the BRMC is currently engaged in the project are of two components, they are introducing the community to form Farmers Producer Group (FPG) under Integrated Natural Farming System (IFS) and supporting skills sets of rural artisans through Handicrafts Producer Group (HPG) in the villages.
